About our Charities
The Turnaround Management Association of New England is pleased to donate the proceeds from this year’s tournament to three very deserving institutions in the community:
Cathedral High School, Boston, MA
Cathedral High School, Inc. (www.cathedralhighschool.net) is an urban, co-educational, multi-cultural, private Catholic, college-preparatory learning community committed to excellence. A rigorous academic program of studies, small class size, and a safe, nurturing setting provide students the opportunity to develop their full potential. CHS prepares students to think, read and write critically, formulate intelligent opinions, and express those thoughts in an articulate, credible, and convincing manner. Cathedral High School is committed to the formation of a diverse learning environment. With financial assistance available to those in need, CHS admits students regardless of economic status, faith, race, or educational background. Within the Cathedral family and in keeping with Gospel values, students learn to take personal responsibility for their actions, make morally and socially responsible decisions, and help the less fortunate.

On The Rise, Cambridge, MA
The mission of On The Rise (www.ontherise.org) is to support the initiative and strength of women living in crisis or homelessness. In a physically and psychologically safe environment, we build the relationships and provide the tools that each woman needs to rise to her potential. On The Rise annually reaches and assists nearly 300 of the most highly marginalized and socially isolated women. We use a relational model designed to offer respect, dignity, connection, information, guidance and hope to women who have fallen through the cracks of our social service system. We meet each woman where she is, help her build on her strengths, and partner with her on her journey from surviving, to living, to thriving.

Sophia Academy, Providence, RI
Sophia Academy (www.sophiaprovidence.org) In 2000, a group of religious orders, later known as the Sisters Collaborative, had a vision to open a school that would celebrate girls through education and environment. In four short years, the school has grown from shared space in the Algonquin Building on Broad Street, to its own spacious quarters in the former St. Edward’s Elementary School, 979 Branch Avenue, Providence, RI. A nondenominational, private, non-profit gender-specific middle school for girls, grades 5-8, from low-income families in Providence, Rhode Island has a current enrollment of 60 students with a student-teacher ratio of 15:1. The school is supported through private donations, corporate and foundation grants, and special events. Our students’ families pay a portion of the $12,500 tuition, based on a sliding scale that is determined at the point of admission.
