Once again TMA Northeast is bringing together five of the most knowledgeable senior officers from Wells Fargo Capital Finance, RBS Citizens Business Capital, PNC Business Credit, Bank of America Business Capital and Santander/Sovereign Bank Asset Based Lending to give us their perspectives, insights, and to answer your questions.
About Our Panelists
Chris Carmosino is an Executive Vice President of RBS Citizens, N.A., and President of its RBS Citizens Business Capital division. Chris joined RBS Citizens 2006 as Executive Vice President and head of RBS CBC’s Northeast division. Chris spent most of his 25 year career in various asset-based lending, leveraged lending and capital market activities. Prior to joining RBSBC, Chris managed the Asset-Based Syndicated Loan team for Bank of America, which was the national leader in asset-based loan syndication. Chris led the Loan Syndication division at Fleet Bank, where he managed a group responsible for loan structuring, distribution and trading, as well as mezzanine and private placements. Previous experience includes various roles in asset-based lending, middle market corporate banking and leveraged finance at Bank of Boston and Fleet Bank.
Charles Garoklanian has been Senior Vice President, Northeast Market Manager for PNC Business Credit since joining PNC in July 2001. Charles and his team of bankers are responsible for sourcing and managing all senior secured transactions in the Northeast with special emphasis on asset based loans, a large percentage of which contain cash flow or second lien tranches within the structures. Used for a wide variety of purposes including acquisition financing, recapitalizations and turnaround financing, Charles’s group is part of the larger national PNC Business Credit organization whose footprint stretches throughout the entire country as well as Canada and the United Kingdom. Charles has been involved in asset based lending and leverage finance in various roles throughout his career at Deutsche Bank, Fleet Capital, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. where he began his career.
Paul Kelly, Director of the Specialized Finance Group Sovereign Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander. Paul joined Sovereign Bank in February, 2006 to manage the Asset Based Lending New Business Group. While at Sovereign, he has also managed the Boston Middle Market and Asset Based Lending Group and currently serves as the Director of the Specialized Finance Group which includes Asset Based Lending, Automotive Finance, Mortgage Warehouse and Equipment Leasing. Paul has over 23 years of experience of bank lending. Prior to joining Sovereign, Paul was a New Business Development Officer for CitizensBank and a Portfolio Manager for BayBank/BankBoston.
Joseph Powers is Senior Vice President, Marketing Manager for the East Division of Bank of America Business Capital. Joe leads a team of professionals who provide asset-based solutions and complementary banking products to large and middle-market companies, intermediaries and financial sponsors within the Group's territory. Joe also specializes in working with distressed companies and their advisors, involved with in-court and out of court restructurings. Prior to re-joining Bank of America, Joe was a team leader with GE Capital, and started his career in commercial banking at Manufacturers Hanover Trust. Joe received an A.B. from Dartmouth College and an MBA from New York University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and Commercial Finance Association.

Barry Bobrow, Managing Director, is the Head of Loan Sales and Syndications for Wells Fargo Capital Finance. Mr. Bobrow has been with Wells Fargo since 2004. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities, where over an 18 year career his assignments included team leader for middle market leveraged finance, head of European loan syndication, and syndicate manager for asset-based lending. Mr. Bobrow is a member of the Executive Committee of the Commercial Finance Association, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA). Mr. Bobrow holds an MBA and a BA in Economics, both from the University of Michigan.
