Please join us for a fascinating look into the economics of irrationality with Dr. Terry Burnham, the author of Mean Markets and Lizard Brains: How to Profit from the New Science of Irrationality.
In this informative and engaging presentation, Dr. Burnham—who has a proven ability to translate complex topics into everyday language—will discuss the biological causes of irrationality and its connection to the way we invest. The ancient part of the brain, which Dr. Burnham calls the “lizard brain,” exerts powerful and often unconscious influences upon our behavior, and is built to eat, survive and reproduce. It is not built to navigate stock markets, buy real estate or engage in complex financial transactions, and therefore wreaks havoc on our finances.
Beyond cataloguing our financial foibles, Dr. Burnham will examine the information concerning the economics of irrationality and how it relates to today’s most important financial topics, such as the stock market and the economy, and will offer some timeless and timely advice on how to use this information to succeed financially.
