Ann H. Merrill
Principal & Managing Director,

Ann Merrill brings over 20 years of retail experience working in merchandising, buying, and merchandise planning. Ms. Merrill works closely with Gordon Brothers Group's venture analysts, merchants and field operations group in preparing both strategic asset dispositions for our clients and asset appraisals for lenders. These valuation models ensure that Gordon Brothers Group, along with our banking and consumer products clients, fully understands the pending value and risk of each project. Ms. Merrill also works closely with our Brand Division to provide licensing and operational strategies and merchandising perspectives for several intellectual properties in our portfolio. Ms. Merrill joined Gordon Brothers Group in 1996 as a Merchant from her position as Director of Merchandise Planning after 13 years with Thom McAn Shoe Company, a division of Melville Corporation. Previously she served with J.C. Penney and Oshman’s Sporting Goods in Atlanta, GA. She is a graduate of Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Georgia
Mark Dufton
Managing Director, Dinosaur Capital Partners
Until
the formation of Dinosaur, Mark was a Principal and Managing Director of
Gordon Brothers Group. Recent investments include the stock purchase
of a supermarket chain, the acquisition of a portfolio of performing and
non-performing retail real estate assets from GE Finance, the
acquisition of a portfolio of national restaurant leases and the financing
of the acquisition of a convenience store chain. While at DJM Realty, a
subsidiary of Gordon Brothers Group, Mr. Dufton managed over 35
clients, focusing primarily on bankruptcy services, lease mitigation, and
restructuring programs. Prior to Gordon Brothers Group and DJM
Realty, Mr. Dufton was Vice President of Real Estate and then the Chief
Operating Officer for Jeepers!, Senior Manager of Real Estate
Acquisitions, Dispositions and Leasing at Bank of America and Real
Estate Transactions Manager at JP Morgan. He also served five years in
the US Army Corps of Engineers where he attained the rank of Captain.
Mr. Dufton earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from
the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the
University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Tony brings more than 25 years of experience in planning, construction and development, asset management, project management, property management, finance, consulting and brokerage. He has managed construction projects totaling more than one million square feet, worked with Fortune 500 corporations on industrial and commercial acquisition, leasing, redevelopment, disposition, and consulting assignments throughout the U.S., representing more than 25 million square feet of buildings on 2,638 acres, and founded a commercial and residential contracting company. Tony crafts comprehensive solutions to the myriad of issues related to industrial and commercial real estate -- investment and market trends, environmental issues, structural and mechanical systems, financial and legal concerns, and sales, leasing, and marketing strategies –- by applying economic, demographic, real estate market, and industrial facilities expertise, redevelopment and adaptive reuse planning experience.

Bill joined Koster Industries, Inc. in 1998. Prior to Koster Industries, Inc., Bill worked in Engineering for 21 years.

Ross Finn is currently vice president of Joseph Finn Co. and has been actively involved in the auctions and appraisals of machinery and equipment since 1979. He is a certified appraiser and has testified in the Bankruptcy Courts of Massachusetts as to the value of machinery and equipment. Ross holds auctioneers licenses in MA, FL, NH and VT.
Kenneth S. Frieze
Principal & Managing Director

Ken Frieze heads Gordon Brothers Group's business development and marketing activities. He also established the company's brand practice which acquires and licenses brands such as Polaroid, Linens-N-Things and Sharper Image, where he is a member of the Board of Directors. He is considered an expert in the valuation of brands and has spoken in multiple forums about how to value brand assets in changing circumstances. Prior, Mr. Frieze was President of Gordon Brothers Asset Advisors and presided over the appraisal of over $100 billion of assets. Mr. Frieze was also the founder and CEO of RetailExchange.com, now part of Gordon Brothers' Commercial & Industrial practice. Mr. Frieze is a member of Gordon Brothers Group's Board of Advisors. Previous to Gordon Brothers Group, he was a management consultant with Bain & Company and a turnaround consultant with CRG Partners. Mr. Frieze serves as a member of the Board of the International Turnaround Management Association, holds a BA from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
